Breaking ground
Government and enterprise embark on a new journey
At 9:18 a.m. on July 11, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Jiangsu Longsheng WIIRI Embodied-Intelligence Robotics Innovation Center project was held at the project site northwest of the intersection of Yinxiu Road and Jinshui Road in Binhu District. Zhao Qiang, Secretary of the CPC Binhu District Committee; Yang Zhiqing, member of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Binhu District Government; Ni Ming, Chairman of Longsheng Technology; Honorary Chairman Ni Maosheng; and Fu Yongqiang, Party Secretary of Lihu Subdistrict, attended the ceremony and broke ground together for the project.

The Jiangsu Longsheng WIIRI Embodied-Intelligence Robotics Innovation Center is one of only three provincial-level embodied-AI robotics innovation centers in Jiangsu and the only one in Wuxi. Led by Longsheng Technology, a national-level specialized and sophisticated "Little Giant" enterprise, it adopts a market-oriented "industry leader + research + capital" operating model, focuses on real manufacturing applications, and connects the full industrial chain from "core components to complete systems to scenario deployment".
The project has a total investment of RMB 200 million and covers about 7.7 mu (roughly 0.5 hectares), with a total floor area of about 23,000 square meters. It will include an 11-storey group R&D headquarters building that will serve as the long-term dedicated home of the provincial innovation center. The Center follows a "one body, two wings" development structure: industrial humanoid-robot development is the main body, supported by two key areas — intelligent algorithms (the "brain") and core robot components. It focuses on breakthroughs in core technologies such as joint modules, dexterous hands, electronic skin and whole-robot control systems, develops the Lansen series of humanoid robots in-house, and delivers solutions for industrial scenarios such as precision assembly and intelligent inspection.
The parent company, Wuxi Longsheng Technology, has specialized in precision manufacturing for more than twenty years, ranks among the leaders in precision automotive components, and has maintained a leading share of the domestic market. Building on its mature industrialization capabilities, it is also expanding into precision aerospace components and humanoid robots, broadening its presence in high-end intelligent manufacturing.
Participants in the ceremony included heads of relevant Binhu District departments, all members of the Lihu Subdistrict leadership, community Party secretaries, heads of economic and investment-promotion work, representatives of Longsheng Technology and representatives of the construction contractors.
The ceremony was hosted by Fu Yongqiang, Party Secretary of Lihu Subdistrict, and proceeded smoothly. Ni Ming, Chairman of Jiangsu Longsheng WIIRI Embodied-Intelligence Robotics Innovation Center Co., Ltd., gave a full introduction to the project plan, core R&D directions and medium- to long-term industrial goals. Yang Zhiqing, member of the Leading Party Members' Group of the District Government, delivered a speech congratulating the project on breaking ground and outlining Binhu District's plans for intelligent manufacturing, the cultivation of innovation platforms and full-lifecycle services for enterprises, expressing the hope that, once completed, the project will play a leading role in accelerating the clustering of the embodied-AI industry in the district.
After the speeches, Zhao Qiang, Ni Ming, Ni Maosheng, Yang Zhiqing and Fu Yongqiang moved to the groundbreaking area and broke ground together, marking the official start of construction of the Center's R&D headquarters.
As the company's core vehicle for developing the new humanoid-robot track, cultivating new quality productive forces and strengthening the high-end intelligent equipment industrial chain, the project will, once completed and in use, host technology R&D, prototype testing, industrial exhibitions and industry–academia–research cooperation. The company will continue to tackle the technical bottlenecks of humanoid-robot industrialization and connect the full path from R&D to real industrial deployment.
Next, Longsheng WIIRI will take this groundbreaking as a new starting point, advancing project construction to high standards and with high efficiency, while stepping up the iteration of core technologies and maintaining a regular, open platform for industry exchange. Working closely with government departments at all levels, universities and research institutes, and upstream and downstream companies, and drawing on Binhu District's well-developed industrial support and innovation policies, it will strive to build a benchmark project for the regional embodied-AI industry and inject strong momentum into the high-quality development of high-end intelligent manufacturing in Wuxi.
